Susan Case DeMari
January 3, 2020

Susan Case DeMari became Jewish Buffalo’s first ever Community Security Coordinator in Spring 2019.  A native of Buffalo, Susan currently resides in Central New York where she also serves as their Community Security Coordinator.  Last month, Susan was also appointed the Chief Deputy of the Civil Department of Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office in Syracuse, New York, making her the first appointed female Jewish Chief of the county.

In her role as Community Security Coordinator, Susan provides guidance and support to all of Jewish Buffalo.  Working closely with the Secure Community Network and Anti-Defamation League, she helps assure community-based proactive and reactive protocols.  Susan is the one point-person that works exclusively with law enforcement on behalf of the Jewish community.  She implemented a rapid communication system to provide alerts and critical information to all sectors of our community, facilitated Active Shooter and Usher/Greeter Trainings for community leaders, coordinated off-duty police security details in the Town of Amherst, and addressed the security status of each of our physical plants.

Susan’s work in our community has helped to ensure a more secure Jewish Buffalo.
