During the month of June, we will be celebrating some of Jewish Buffalo’s graduating high school seniors! This week, meet Sam Kane.
Sam is a member of the Buffalo Seminary Class of 2020 who plans to attend SUNY Oneonta this fall. In thinking what’s in store for her future, Sam is in between going into education or the medical field.
Her interest in teaching is due to her years of being a Madricha at Temple Beth Zion’s religious school. Sam has enjoyed talking with the students and listening to their ideas and aspirations. She loves the preschool and Kindergarten ages, but has also thought about becoming a high school History teacher after learning from some incredible history teachers at Sem.
Sam is also considering becoming a Physician’s Assistant, and not surprisingly, would love to work in pediatrics so she could continue to work with and help children.
At Oneonta, Sam hope to join the club soccer team, explore Greek life, make new friends at Hillel, participate in the Disney college program, and potentially study abroad.
When asked where she sees herself in 5 years, Sam quickly answered that she’ll be continuing her education to fulfill her career goals. Her adventures might take her away from Buffalo, but she plans to stay somewhere in the great state of New York!
Congratulations on your well-deserved success Sam! You make Jewish Buffalo proud!
