Jessica Mabie
October 18, 2019

Jessica Mabie (nee Billick) was recently recognized as one of the 2019 Buffalo Business First 40 Under 40 Honorees.

As Senior Director of Facility Operations at the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, Jessica provides operational leadership and strategic direction for multiple departments, including Perioperative Services, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Food and Nutrition, and Linen, among others.  She oversees approximately 175 staff, leads capital projects and facility improvement efforts, and works with the clinical leadership team to drive surgical services business and program development.

Jessica joined the Kaleida family in September 2015 as Director of Strategic Planning and Implementation, with the primary goal of facilitating the $272 million relocation of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo to the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.  From 2015 through the move in November of 2017, she lead all activation team and task force deliverables, as well as new process flow design for the new space.  She worked with the clinical teams to develop and implement all move plans and strategies associated with the hospital’s transition, which resulted in the safe relocation of 125 patients in under 12 hours.

Born and raised in Buffalo, Jessica graduated from Williamsville South High School, then moved on to graduate from the University at Buffalo with her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Services.  She then attained her Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and upon completion of that program, was awarded an Administrative Fellowship with the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System, now Northwell Health, in the New York Metropolitan area.  She spent 8 years in a leadership role in the orthopedic service line there before returning home to Buffalo in 2015.

Jessica now resides in Clarence with her husband Ryan, and children Nolan and Hannah (The Mabie family is looking forward to their son Nolan’s consecration at Temple Beth Zion this coming weekend!)  In addition to spending time with her family, Jessica is also involved in the community, serving as a member of the Advancement Committee for the new Explore and More Children’s Museum, as well as volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and contributing to various other organizations, and is always looking for additional ways to get further engaged in the Buffalo community.

Congratulations Jess on this incredible achievement!
