Cantor Susan Lewis-Friedman

This week, we cast our spotlight on Susan Lewis-Friedman, who was recently appointed as Temple Beth Zion’s new Cantor. Cantor Lewis-Friedman has been serving congregations in suburban Chicago since 2015 and brings with her experience and passion for engaging individuals through musical participation within the Jewish community. She has been instrumental in revitalizing choirs, creating teen a cappella groups, and leading musical events. the Cantor, along with her husband Ross and their children Abigail and Zev, are excited to be a part of TBZ and Jewish Buffalo.

Cantor Lewis-Friedman is a distinguished graduate of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and a proud member of the American Conference of Cantors and the Actors’ Equity Association. She is known for her original compositions, which you can listen to on her album “Sing, Pray, Repeat”.

To celebrate her arrival, TBZ will host a special Oneg following the Erev Shabbat Service TONIGHT, July 5, and a Kiddush luncheon after Shabbat Morning Services tomorrow, on July 6. A formal installation ceremony is planned for the first weekend in November.
