Blue Tattoo Educational Unit
We invite teachers to download the Blue Tattoo Film PowerPoint classroom unit for grades 7-12. It is intended to supplement your existing Holocaust related curriculum. The presentation includes background information, discussion topics/assignments and an edited version of the film, “Blue Tattoo: Dina’s Story, Joe’s Song.”
BLUE TATTOO: Dina’s Story, Joe’s Song
The film Blue Tattoo: Dina’s Story, Joe’s Song explores the relationship between Holocaust survivor Dina Jacobson and folksinger/songwriter, Joe Crookston. Through a series of events, their paths crossed, a friendship was formed and a song was written. Together they developed a bond that would help keep the memory of the Holocaust alive and the lessons of humanity relevant to this and future generations.
