As I continue to reflect on my recent Birthright experience, I have been trying to give my family and friends a taste of my journey in Israel. I tried so many new foods and I indulged in some of my favorite traditional foods. I know that I can say that the best falafel I have ever tasted was in Jerusalem.
I am determined to try to replicate the perfect falafel balls I had during my trip. However, I realize that traditionally, the falafel mixture is shaped into a ball and then dropped into a deep fryer. Personally, I prefer to try to eat a little healthier, so I wanted to try to air fry instead.
One of my biggest suggestions is to taste your falafel mixture before you decide to start frying it. This is important because everybody’s palette is different and you want to make sure that it is exactly how you want it to taste. I know that I enjoy mine with a little bit of extra spice. This recipe was a big hit with my family and I hope that your family loves it just as much.
