Today, we are honored to spotlight Dr. Michael Markiewicz, a renowned surgeon in Buffalo. Dr. Markiewicz is the only Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Buffalo and upstate New York trained in the full scope of Head and Neck Oncologic and Microvascular Surgery, and one of only a handful of Facial Surgeons nationwide with fellowship training in Head and Neck, Microvascular, and Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery. He also serves as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs at the University at Buffalo.

This past summer, Dr. Markiewicz was invited to Israel to perform a transformative surgery on a baby girl. This was the first surgery of its kind performed in Israel, and Dr. Markiewicz collaborated with an international team to restore function to the baby girl at Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan. Dr. Markiewicz has traveled extensively to provide accessible healthcare, including to Nova Scotia, Turkey, Brazil, Rome, and Guatemala.
