Stephanie Newberger

Buffalo Jewish Federation proudly works with and collaborates with all Jewish Buffalo organizations to weave threads of connection, including Hillel of Buffalo. Today, we cast a spotlight on Stephanie Newberger, Hillel’s new Springboard Fellow.

A Buffalo native, Stephanie transferred to the University at Buffalo during her sophomore year and quickly found a meaningful sense of community and lifelong friendships through Hillel. Her positive student experience inspired a passion for creating spaces where Jewish students can connect, grow, and feel at home.

While at UB, Stephanie pursued her interest in marketing through internships with the Buffalo Zoo and Fisher-Price. She graduated this May with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, along with minors in Marketing and Psychology.

As Hillel of Buffalo’s 2026–2028 Springboard Fellow, Stephanie will leverage her marketing background and firsthand experience as a UB student to strengthen campus engagement. Her work will focus on connecting with Jewish students who have not yet found their place in Jewish campus life and developing innovative programs that help students build meaningful relationships and Jewish identity.

“Stephanie represents exactly what makes Hillel so impactful,” said Dr. Mike Steklof, Executive Director of Hillel of Buffalo. “As a student, she found friendship, belonging, and purpose through our community. Now she is returning to help create those same opportunities for the next generation of Jewish students. Her creativity, marketing expertise, and authentic understanding of the student experience make her an outstanding addition to our team.”

Stephanie brings an energetic and creative perspective to the role, drawing on her interests in pop culture, branding, and student engagement. She is passionate about building relationships and creating experiences that resonate with young adults. Outside of work, she enjoys celebrating Shabbat with friends, swimming at Broadview Arena, attending puppy yoga classes, and spending time outdoors whenever Buffalo’s weather allows.

Hillel of Buffalo looks forward to the energy, creativity, and student-centered vision Stephanie will bring as she helps ensure that every Jewish student at the University at Buffalo knows they have a welcoming community waiting for them.
