Have you ever wondered who the person is behind our Nosh of the Week column? Today, we are delighted to cast a spotlight on UB rising senior Sari Arrow. Our Nosh author is a Psychology major who hails from Plainview, Long Island. Fluent in American Sign Language and the President of UB’s American Sign Language Club, Sari also sings with the a Capella group The Royal Pitches, who recently performed at Hillel’s 75th Anniversary Celebration at UB’s Center for the Arts in May.
Sari is deeply involved with Hillel and currently serves as the VP of Jewish Student Union. Through Hillel, she has participated in an Alternative Winter Break trip to volunteer in Miami, and was a part of the Jewish Learning Fellowship and the Organizational Design Internship. “Sari is the type of person who immediately gains the trust of those she works with,” shared Rabbi Sara Rich. “Whether they are colleagues or friends, Sari is sensitive to the needs of others, deeply committed to her passions, and she is a natural leader.” Logan Woodard, Director of Engagement at Hillel shared, “Sari is someone who positively impacts everyone around her. She is always happy to share her depth of knowledge and many talents. She is a friend, a leader, and a star!”
And if that wasn’t enough, Sari has also been working as part of the Federation Marketing Team since Spring 2021. Her role has included writing the weekly Nosh column, where she often includes stories about cooking and her own family traditions, as well as creating and posting content for our many social media channels. “Sari’s easy-going attitude mixed with her incredible responsiveness to our fast-paced needs has made her a natural fit with the Federation work environment,” shared Jill Komm. “We are so happy to have her as part of our team!”
