Throughout the month, we are delighted to spotlight the newest members of the Buffalo Jewish Federation’s Board of Governors. Today, we proudly feature Samuel (Sam) Shatkin Jr., a board-certified plastic surgeon in private practice in Amherst, NY. Sam has served on multiple foundation boards and is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Buffalo-Niagara Business Ethics Award, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences Star Diamond Award, and Newsweek’s America’s Best Plastic Surgeons Award.

“We are so grateful to have Sam join the Federation Board,” shares Shelly Yellen, past president, and chair of the Nominating Committee. “Sam checks all the boxes and brings a wealth of knowledge about our community and Jewish Buffalo. His voice will be very helpful as we move forward.”

Sam is the author of articles and book chapters and serves as Medical Director of the Aesthetic Associates Centre in Amherst and Tres Aurae Spa in Williamsville. He is the founder of the International Society of Aesthetic Medical Professionals and current president of the Aesthetic Learning Academy. He also holds faculty appointments at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine, D’Youville University, and Daemen University.

He is married to Joni Shatkin and is the proud father of three adult children.
