We are pleased to spotlight Sam Lukin Johnson, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) social media intern. Sam is a rising junior at Amherst High School and plays viola in both the Symphony and Sinfonia orchestras. He is the president of the quiz bowl club at Amherst and as a sophomore went to the National History Bowl competition in Washington D.C.. An active member of Amherst High School’s Spanish club, Sam was inducted into the Spanish Honors Society. Outside of school, he is a member of the Amherst Youth Consortium and the principal violist in the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra.

In his role as JCRC social media intern, Sam creates and posts holiday graphics, social and racial justice events. Sam also helps with details of the JCRC Buffalo Civic Leader Trip to Israel in early February and updating the JCRC webpages. “I love being part of a group where I can make a difference,” shared Sam. “Working to promote unity and making people’s voices heard makes me extremely proud to work for the JCRC.”
