Throughout the month, we are shining a spotlight on the newest members of Buffalo Jewish Federation’s Board of Governors. Today, we are pleased to highlight Maxine Awner, Senior Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Maxine joined Merrill Lynch in 1989 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Business from Ithaca College.

“I’m delighted to welcome Maxine to our Board,” shared Federation President Blaine Schwartz. “Her deep expertise in wealth management and philanthropy, paired with a long record of community service, will be invaluable to our board and Jewish Buffalo.”

Maxine also holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation, enabling her to guide clients and prospective donors through meaningful legacy planning and charitable giving strategies.

A dedicated community leader, Maxine has served on the Make-A-Wish Board for 12 years and is a past board member of the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies. She is married to Dr. Steven Awner and is the proud mother of two adult daughters.
