This course is a welcoming exploration of Jewish beliefs, traditions, values, and culture. Designed for individuals seeking a deeper understanding of Judaism, including those who are exploring conversion, members of interfaith couples, and those who are curious to learn more. Through discussions on Shabbat, holidays, spirituality, ethics, Israel, Jewish history, and contemporary Jewish life, participants will gain a deeper understanding of what it means to live Jewishly today. Experiential opportunities, including a Shabbat dinner and a Hebrew session, will complement classroom learning. We are thrilled to be hosting our fourth annual gala, an opportunity for the Jewish Family Services community to come together, celebrate, and raise funds for our critical, life-saving programs: the Matzah Ball! This ticketed event will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2026 at The Admiral Room. The night will feature a plated dinner, an awards ceremony, open bar, silent auction highlighting local experiences, dancing, and more.
