Jewish Family Services of WNY invites you to Lighting the Path, a special event for donors and supporters. The event will be held from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Resurgence Brewing Co. (55 Chicago St.), and will feature a holiday market, food, drinks, program updates, and more! It will be a celebration and show of gratitude for the impact we were able to make together in 2024. Since 1862, JFS of WNY has been providing all members of our community with critical health and human services. We stay connected to our Jewish roots by approaching clients from a place of cultural understanding and respect. We provide services like trauma systems therapy for youth, refugee resettlement, and job training and placement. His poems and essays have appeared in many journals and including Poetry Magazine, The Kenyon Review, Tikkun, The Georgia Review and Poetry International, and anthologies, including The Bloomsbury Anthology of Contemporary Poetry, 101 Poets for the Next Millennium, Blood to Remember: American Poets on the Holocaust, Joyful Noise: An Anthology of Spiritual Literature, Extraordinary Rendition: American Writers on Palestine. Retired from Clarion University, he served as co-director of the Chautauqua Writers Festival for 14 years. Currently, he directs The Bridge Literary Arts Center in Venango County, PA (https://www.bridgeliteraryartscenter.org/) and is co-curator of the Jewish Poetry Reading Series, sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Buffalo. PJ PEER (PJ Library Parent Engagement & Empowerment Resources) is a FREE innovative program designed to foster a vibrant network of micro-communities among parents raising young Jewish children throughout the Buffalo area. This initiative aims to empower parents to create engaging, welcoming, and meaningful Jewish gatherings for their friends and families. By providing resources and support through a four session program, PJ PEER encourages parents to take an active role in building and nurturing the broader community while enriching their own Jewish experience.
