In collaboration with the Buffalo Board of Rabbis and Cantors, this exceptional course is designed for: couples of multiple faiths considering marriage, individuals interested in conversion, or individuals (Jewish and non-Jewish) interested in learning more about Jewish religion and history. This course will explore the Jewish calendar and life cycles, worship and beliefs, the Bible, Rabbinic literature, Antisemitism, the Holocaust, Zionism and the State of Israel. Buffalo’s Annual Repair the Sea Reverse Tashlich International Waterfront Cleanup Sunday, September 29th, 2024 For thousands of years, in a ritual called Tashlich, Jews around the world have symbolically cast their sins into a body of water on the holiday Rosh Hashanah. For years humans have also been throwing their trash and debris into bodies of water. Now let's take these sins out as a way to connect our spiritual and ethical values with environmental stewardship. Join us to foster a deeper sense of interconnectedness with the natural world, the global community, and promote positive change. Our mini chefs will join together to cook, bake, create fun crafts, while learning about Jewish themes! From Chalah and Gefilte fish, to Roast chicken and Kugels, our mini chefs will learn about mitzvahs through foods and crafts they create. Additionally, a portion of the food will always be shared with those who are less fortunate.
