September 20, 2019

Jake Katz is receiving the Ann & Meyer Riwchun Emerging Leadership Award at the 2020 Campaign for Jewish Buffalo Kick off Event on September 25, 2019.  This award recognizes and invests in an emerging leader who demonstrates a commitment to the growth and sustainability of our vibrant and caring Buffalo Jewish Community.

Jake is a financial planner at Scheff Thompson Cress Investment Group.  He is on the Buffalo Jewish Service Corps, a trustee of the Federation Board, serves on Federation’s Overseas Allocations Committee, and is Co-President of Nickel City Jews, where he helped reshape the executive committee and introduced a give-back program.  Jake has grown up attending services at both Temple Beth Tzedek and Congregation Havurah, and attended Kadimah Academy, Williamsville North High School, and Binghamton University.  He credits his parents Susan and Jeff Katz, his grandparents Judy and Len Katz, and the late Helene and Dr. Russell Seidner for instilling in him a philanthropic and community involvement that he finds both rewarding and meaningful.
