We are pleased to spotlight Eliot Isenberg who is teaming up with Jewish Family Services of Western New York (JFS) as he works towards his Eagle rank in Boy Scouts. Eliot comes from a long family line of Boy Scouts including both of his Grandfathers Fred Isenberg and Joel Ross, Uncles Joseph and Theodore Ross, and brother Aaron Isenberg!
Eliot is a life scout in Boy Scout Troop 457. As a part of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, all scouts complete a service project that helps their local community. It was very important to Eliot to work with a Jewish organization to complete this project and make the connection between his Scout life and Jewish life. He selected JFS because they provide a variety of services to the Buffalo community including helping immigrant families settle into the community by helping families get a home, jobs, and healthcare.
The goal of Eliot’s project is to help furnish a home for an incoming refugee family. This includes collecting everything needed to furnish the home, from dish soap to sofa chairs. There are a lot of items that need to be collected and he would be grateful for any assistance in obtaining these items. CLICK HERE to view the list of items that are still needed. The list is updated regularly as items are received and also has the information on delivery location.
