MOMentum 2019: Day 5
December 14, 2019

Here’s the next update from our Buffalo Mom’s group traveling in Israel!  Thanks to Laura Cooper Wexler and Amy Pecora for sending a great re-cap from Thursday’s events!

We started the morning by waking up in the Sea of Galilee.  We heard a wonderful talk by Adrienne Gold on Peace in the home.  During this talk, she refers to the marriage relationship between a husband and a wife.  She discussed the idea of Peace in a marriage and how important the idea of balance is.

The wisdom that Judaism gives you in a relationship helps you understand that in certain situations, divorce is a mitzvah.

Following Adrienne’s talk, we hopped on a bus and spent the day in mystical Tzfat.  Once in Tzfat, we were led on an educational walking tour by David Sussman.  David is a native of Buffalo who knew a few of the Buffalo Women on our trip!  We enjoyed the beauty of the land and embraced the powerful walk to the Mikvah.  While at the Mikvah, we were welcomed by a beautiful woman by the name of Elle Sheva.  She took us through a spiritual journey to discover our beauty as strong Jewish women.

Following our tour of the beautiful and accessible Mikvah, we hopped back in the bus for a 3 hour drive to the beautiful city of Jerusalem.  We quickly put our suitcases in our room and headed out to the underground tunnel.  The tunnel was opened to the public in 1990 and excavation began in 1967.

This was our first time seeing the Western Wall on this trip.  It was evening and the weather was cool and beautiful.  Afterwards, we walked back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest.
