Martin Lewin

was born in Kassel, Germany where, upon the rise of the Nazi Party, he was made to attend the Jewish School instead of the public school. In the public school he had been beaten by other students. Martin, his parents, brother and sister came to the U.S. in January 1938 on a visa. In Buffalo, he met his wife Beth, and became the assistant director of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library.
