The Buffalo Corner Reading Series, hosted by Gunilla Kester, takes place April 18, 7-8:30 p.m., in person at Congregation Shir Shalom or via Zoom. In honor of National Poetry Month, our April event welcomes poets to share their work at this months’ Open Community Poetry Reading. Join Zahava Fried as we delve into Torah trope, the melodic punctuation system used to read aloud from the Torah. This class will focus learning the names, purposes, and melodies of the t’amim (trope signs) for Shabbat. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to chant like a champ! Proficiency in reading Hebrew is required. Fun on a Sunday morning for pre-k kids and a grown-up! Parents and grandparents are invited to join Rabbi Brent and Jill Gutmann for an engaging, interactive, Jewish-themed gathering of Pre-K children and the grown-ups who love them. Doors open at 9:15 AM for Free Play in the gym. The little ones get out their wiggles on our riding toys and other tot-sized gym equipment. Both grown-ups and little ones enjoy the playful atmosphere and making friends. At 10 AM, we move to the Library for stories and songs, followed by some easy arts & crafts and a yummy snack. Members and Non-Members are welcome to attend. Registration for all 7 sessions is $70, but we are always happy to welcome walk-ins at $18/class per child! CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
