Rosh Hashanah celebrates the Jewish New Year. It begins at sundown on the eve of the Hebrew month of Tishrei 1 and ends after nightfall on Tishrei 2.  This is one of the holiest holidays of the year.  Students are generally absent from school to observe the holiday.

Fun on a Sunday morning for pre-k kids and a grown-up! Parents and grandparents are invited to join Rabbi Brent and Jill Gutmann for an engaging, interactive, Jewish-themed gathering of Pre-K children and the grown-ups who love them. Doors open at 9:15 AM for Free Play in the gym. The little ones get out their wiggles on our riding toys and other tot-sized gym equipment. Both grown-ups and little ones enjoy the playful atmosphere and making friends. At 10 AM, we move to the Library for stories and songs, followed by some easy arts & crafts and a yummy snack. In collaboration with the Buffalo Board of Rabbis and Cantors, this exceptional course is designed for: couples of multiple faiths considering marriage, individuals interested in conversion, or individuals (Jewish and non-Jewish) interested in learning more about Jewish religion and history.
