Sophia Veffer
was born in Amsterdam, Holland in 1929. Sophia and her parents survived Nazi Germany’s occupation of Holland by going into hiding. She was placed away from her family. All other family members perished. She immigrated to the United States in 1954. She is a retired Special Education teacher and is active in many human rights and theater organizations.
