Renee Joffe
was born in Paris, France. With the help of their mother, Reneé and her younger sister escaped to Southern France. While there, they were able to hide in a Catholic school while their mother went back to Paris. After liberation, Reneé returned to Paris with her sister and then eventually made her way to Buffalo.
