was born in Augsburg, Germany. With her older brother, the seven year old Beth was sent to England on a Kindertransport. After the war Beth learned that her parents had been murdered in Auschwitz. Beth moved to the U.S. in 1948 at the age of 16. There she received a degree in Library Science and later met her husband, Martin.
