Nick Utz
August 4, 2023
This week we are thrilled to spotlight Nick Utz who has recently been promoted to Camp Centerland, Children & Youth Director at the Jewish Community Center. He has worked tirelessly at the JCC for years and is thoroughly committed to the success and well-being of every child who has spent time at camp. Nick is a role model for other staff who leads and supports them daily in a way that makes everyone proud.

Nick started at the JCC in 2005 and progressed by working at Camp Centerland as a counselor, unit head, program coordinator, and assistant camp director. Nick is an integral part of the after-school program, Kids’ Place, where he oversees the delicate balance of enrichment programs, school drop-offs, engaging activities, and staff development.

If you know Nick, you know he loves country music, the Philadelphia Eagles (sorry, Bills), and the JCC. But what is even better is a statement Nick once shared about his approach to working with youth, “I want to present a fun, safe, enriched environment for children to grow into their own. And offer inclusive settings that welcome children’s varied abilities and learning styles.” We know the future is bright at camp with Nick at the helm of an amazing and dedicated team.

Please join us in congratulating Nick Utz, the new Director of Camp Centerland!
