Malabi

A few days ago, I returned from my Birthright Israel trip with Hillel of Buffalo and it was truly the trip of a lifetime. I made so many new friends and memories that I will cherish forever. I got to experience so many new things and taste different foods that I have never had before. Ever since I returned home, I have been feeling extra inspiration in the kitchen so I can share my favorite dishes from my journey in Israel with my loved ones!

When we were in Tel Aviv, we were all given a voucher to get free malabi. Malabi is a milk-based pudding topped with a rose water syrup. To finish the dessert, you sprinkle nuts, cookie crumble, and or coconut shavings on top of the syrup. At the restaurant we went to, the syrup was flavored with berries and rose water to make it different from all the others.

Malabi is a creamy and delicate dessert that is unique from the traditional desserts served here. It is definitely one of the standout foods that I had while on my trip and was a favorite among the other participants too. I encourage you to try making this outrageous dessert this weekend for your family and friends to get a taste of my recent adventure in Israel!
