The Holocaust Resource Center (HRC) welcomed Lauren Bloomberg to its team earlier this fall. Lauren is the granddaughter of a Holocaust Survivor and joins the HRC as program specialist after a long career working in Jewish Education. Lauren will coordinate the Speakers Bureau, Student to Student presentations, Descendants of Holocaust Survivors Group, holiday meals to Survivors, and more. “I feel honored to be given this opportunity to work with the HRC,” Lauren shared, “especially as a third-generation descendant who cares deeply about Holocaust education.”
Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, her Bachelor of Education, and a certificate in Hebrew and Judaic Studies from York University in Toronto. Over the past 20 years, she has taught in multiple Jewish schools in Canada and the US, working with children of all ages. Lauren moved to Buffalo in 2008 and lives with her husband Rich, teenagers Marlowe and Reid, and their family dog Buffy.
On Tuesday, November 9 at 5:30 pm, HRC is sponsoring a virtual event commemorating Kristallnacht. For more information and to register, click HERE.
