This week, we are delighted to spotlight Jamie Goodwin, Jewish Community Caseworker at Jewish Family Services of Western New York. Jamie’s new role will primarily focus on supporting Jewish Buffalo through inclusion and belonging.
The daughter of Kathy and Steven Goodwin, Jamie comes from a long line of family members who were deeply engaged in community building. Her great grandfather Joseph Sapowitch was active in strengthening the Buffalo Jewish Community in the early 1940’s and 1950’s when Buffalo was teaming with Jewish life. Jamie shared, “my goal is to continue to build on my great grandfather’s legacy and help nurture our community in a way where everyone feels welcome.”

Jamie is the proud mother of two children, Emunah Maayan (10 years old) and Yeshaya Moshe (7 years old), who both attend Maplemere Elementary School. Jamie and her family are active in the Jewish community and attend weekly Shabbat services at Young Israel and Chabad. Previously, Jamie and her family lived in Jerusalem for 3 years.
