Within their Literary, Cultural and Historical Context

February 5, 2020: The parable of the Good Samaritan
February 12, 2020: The story of the Rich man and Lazarus
February 19, 2020: The parable of the Tenants

These 3 sessions will include an in depth study of parables in Classical Rabbinic Literature, placing Jesus’ teachings within the gamut, continuum, of rabbinic parables of the last 2 millennia.  The series will also attempt to understand how Jesus’ parables were perceived by his many listeners when he first taught them.
