THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.  PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS!

MADE IN BUFFALO IS BACK AND THRILLED TO FEATURE BUFFALO-NATIVE CHERYL STERN!

Cheryl’s accolades are many, including stints on and off broadway, as well as a recent recurring role as Ida Ettenberg (Benjamin’s mom) in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Chery’s one-woman production of SHOES AND BAGGAGE takes us on a wild, hilarious and heartbreaking ride of hunting for a deal and spending as she digs deep to understand her own obsession with shopping. Buffalonians will find some familiar themes, as Cheryl touches on her upbringing in North Buffalo with her tight knit Jewish family, going to Camp Lakeland, attending Amherst High School, being confirmed at Temple Beth Zion, and more!

In addition to the main event, a VIP pre-event will take place at Shea’s Smith Theatre and Bistro (just down the street). This incredible experience will showcase several local Buffalo performers, open bar and plentiful food (catered by Luscious by Lori). Featured performers include Devi Bollywood Performing ArtsSaranaideBig J BluesThe Slyboots School of Music, Art & Dance, and more! **Tickets for the VIP event are limited.

Made in Buffalo also offers the opportunity to GIVE BACK to the Buffalo community. We will be collecting gently used mens and womens business suits (at both the VIP and main events). Our friends at Colvin Cleaners will be cleaning the donations. They will then be delivered to Buffalo Employment and Training Center to support individuals seeking employment and training opportunities.

In addition, the Shoes and Baggage production will conclude with a fun and interactive auction of some designer accessories – which Cheryl as the auctioneer! Proceeds from the auction will support Jewish Family Service of Buffalo & Erie County programming.

MADE IN BUFFALO: Those who call Buffalo home, whether or not they still live in the community, know the sense of pride and closeness that makes Buffalo special. There is a deep connection and love of this place, and we think it should be celebrated.

Made In Buffalo, an ongoing series powered by the Buffalo Jewish Federation, will shine a spotlight on those famous Buffalonians who cut their teeth right here in our backyard.

The purpose of Made in Buffalo is to celebrate a personality who can lay claim to being “made” in our region and allow the Buffalo Jewish Federation to provide a dynamic program as a gift to the greater community.
