The Buffalo Jewish Federation is proud to shine a spotlight today on Erin Casper, recently appointed Manager of Governance and Development for Federation. In this newly created role, Erin will support the Federation’s Board of Governors and other agency volunteer leadership, in addition to building out a unique, new Development Leadership Council.
A graduate of SUNY Geneseo, Erin began her college career contemplating both Theater and Jewish Professional life as potential careers. Life at the time took her on a path towards a double major in both Theater and English, but there was always something in the back of her mind that someday she would work in the Jewish community. Upon graduation, Erin landed a position with the Academy of Theatre Arts (ATA), where she worked for 16 years. Serving ATA in a variety of capacities including curriculum development and instruction, administration, and operations, Erin built lasting relationships with many students and their families, which she treasures to this day. “Erin is a gem and we are so blessed that we found each other and that she can contribute to Federation’s goal of ensuring a thriving Jewish Buffalo,” commented Federation’s COO Miriam Abramovich.
Erin (formally Erin Zimmerman) is a lifelong Buffalonian with deep roots in our Jewish Community. She is proud to live here as an adult raising her two children (2 years old and 4 months old) with her husband Patrick. When reflecting on growing up in Buffalo, Erin describes many beautiful and formative experiences. “Jewish Buffalo played such an important part of my life as a child/young adult. From Temple Beth Am, Lakeland, BBYO, Hebrew High and more – it shaped who I am today, gave me such meaningful Jewish experiences and lifelong friendships. I am so excited to be a part of this incredible team and do the work to ensure a thriving Jewish Buffalo for years to come.”
