Throughout the month of July, we will be casting a spotlight on several college students who are part of the new Summer Internship through Hillel at Buffalo. In this program, students work in their internship placements throughout Buffalo during the week, and on Fridays gather with Hillel for professional development, field trips, and Jewish learning.
Today, we are pleased to feature two native Buffalonians, Adam Helfman and Seth Blum. Adam is a rising junior at Miami University and is a double major in accountancy and finance and is involved in the Commercial Banking club and TAMID organization. He also plays soccer and softball for his fraternity. In reflecting on his experience this summer interning with the Center for Jewish Engagement and Learning, Adam notes: “I love the freedom that comes with each project I am tasked with. I am able to add my own tweaks that benefit the project as a whole, and I feel that my supervisors encourage this creativity. I also enjoy working on projects that will benefit the community in the near future.”
Seth is interning with the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies and will begin his graduate studies in the fall at UB pursuing an MBA in Finance. Seth loves working out, playing basketball, reading, learning, and spending time with friends and family. “I have grown up in Buffalo for most of my entire life,” shared Seth. “However, with this program I have visited and learned new things about Buffalo and Jewish Buffalo. I am grateful for all of the experiences I have gained thus far.”
