November 29, 2024

Today we are excited to shine a spotlight on Federation Officers for 2025: Margie Bryen, President, Marc Brown and Blaine Schwartz, Vice Presidents, Shawn Frier, Treasurer and Deborah Goldman, Secretary.

“I am so looking forward to working hand in glove with our stellar leadership team in the year ahead,” shared Miriam Abramovich, Federation CEO.  “Margie, Marc, Shawn, Blaine and Deborah are trusted partners and true stewards of Jewish Buffalo and the mission of the Federation. Each of them bring integrity, generosity and wisdom to everything they do.”

Entering her third year as Board President, Margie Bryen has skillfully guided the organization through a period of significant growth and transition, ensuring strategic development and strengthening Federation’s impact. A native Buffalonian, Margie is President of Hard Manufacturing Co. Inc.

Marc Brown is returning for his second year as Vice President and Development Chair. Marc has served in many roles throughout Jewish Buffalo, including as Vice President of Young Israel Synagogue and on the board of the Buffalo Va’ad HaKashrut. Marc is an attorney and partner at Goldberg Segalla LLP. He is also an adjunct professor at UB Law School, teaching Real Estate Litigation.

Blaine Schwartz will also be serving as one of Federation’s Vice Presidents. Blaine is an active leader throughout the community and has previously served as President of Jewish Family Services and Temple Beth Am (currently Congregation Shir Shalom). Blaine is a partner in the Real Estate practice group at Lippes Mathias LLP.

Shawn Frier continues in his role as Treasurer. Shawn has been instrumental in overseeing our recent financial transition. Professionally, Shawn is a CPA and serves as Director in Freed Maxick’s Enterprise Advisory Services Practices.

Deborah Goldman joins the Officers group as Secretary. Deborah most recently served as CO-chair of Jewish Community Relations Council and continues to be active in our critical community relations work. A dedicated philanthropist across the city of Buffalo, Deborah serves as a consultant to government and not for profit agencies.
